Show Highlights: Exhibits including, Steam Engines (Traction, Portable and Stationary) Gas Engines, Tractors, Saw Mill, Threshing, Shingle Mill & Rock Crusher Demonstrations Daily. Huge Flea Market/Crafts area 200+ Vendors, All exhibits are open from 9 a.m. each day – Show closes on Sunday – 4:00 P.M. Food served daily from breakfast until dusk at the Main Kitchen. Food trucks will also be on site, their hours will vary.

Join us for our SPRING CRANK UP!

Let’s break the cabin fever and shake the winter dust off our engines and tractors for the 2026 show season. Plenty of equipment to see, great food, flea market, and fun for the whole family. Setup begins after 2 PM on Friday – rain or shine!

Garden Tractor Pull – Saturday at 12:00 PM

Attention Flea Market Vendors!

LIVE MUSIC

The Dixie Wind Band will be performing on Friday night at 7pm. Borderline will preform Saturday at 3pm.

GOOD FOOD

Food served daily from breakfast until dusk at the Main Kitchen and with the food truck vendors

Activities for Kids.

The Kids Pedal pull will be held on Saturday At 12 Noon. We have a corn box with excavators for the kids to enjoy.

Steam Games

Grab some dinner, and then come watch the engineers of these vintage machines show off their talent for operating while competing in some fun games. The steam games begin around 6:30 PM on Friday night.

Spark Show

At dark on Saturday, The steam engines will belt up to display a beautiful spark show.

ATTENTION Teens and High school Students. We are always looking for good help. Helping at our show qualifies for Service Hours for Graduation and other programs (IE. 4-H, etc.) Please Contact Jan Graf at 443-677-3761 if you're interested in volunteering.

Steam School

Annual Consignment Sale

Auction begins on Thursday of the show at 8:30 AM. Lots of items. Antiques, collectibles, farm equipment.

Antique/Garden Tractor Fun and Competitive Pull

Friday at 5:00 PM there will be a antique tractor fun pull located at the demo derby track. Saturday at 1:30 PM there will be a garden tractor fun pull at the demo derby track as well. Starting at 3:00 PM the competitive garden tractor pull will begin. Checkout our Contacts page for more info.

Black Smith Demonstrations

See Blacksmithing demonstrations as well as tools and crafted items with members of the Blacksmith Guild of Central Maryland. Located next to the Outdoor Stage and Steam engines.

Equipment Operation, Sawmill, Threshing, and Rock Crushing Demonstrations

Don't miss the demonstrations throughout the day. You'll find examples of how Harvest items such as lumber and grains were processed. From Threshing to Milling to Rock Crushing. There are also many smaller displays located throughout the Gas Engine section. Check out our Schedule page for demonstration times.

Our Mission

The objective of the Maryland Steam Historical Society, Inc. shall be to bring together persons interested in steam traction engines, other steam-operated equipment, gas and diesel tractors and engines, antique farm equipment of all kinds, horse operated equipment, and models of all the above, for displaying, education, and demonstrating for the public at a show, for the exchange of information, and for mutual assistance regarding the preservation and operation of this historically valuable machinery.

Stop by our Steam building for a unique display of stationary engines in operation.

Our Lattner steam boiler provides steam for our soup kitchen as well as steam for all the stationary engines and models in our steam building.
We have a dedicated steam model table where students and hobbyists can display and run their models off of steam.
